GG’s “never fail” chocolate brownies
  • 350g (12oz) dark cooking chocolate
  • 3/4 cup plain flour
  • 1 cup icing sugar
  • 125 grams (or 4oz) almond meal or hazelnut meal
  • 180g (6oz) butter
  • 6 eggwhites
  • Thick cream (optional, for serving only
Method:
  • Preheat oven to 160 degrees Celcius (320F).  Grease and line with baking paper a 30cm x 19cm (12 x 7 1/2 inch) ti
  • Melt chocolate and butter together.  
  • Add in flour, icing sugar, almond meal and egg whites and mix until combined.
  • Pour mixture into tin and bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until cooked.
  • Cool on wire rack, cut into squares.
  • You may like to dust with icing sugar and/or serve with thick cream.
  • Suitable for freezing too!
